JOB SUMMARY
Job Title: IT Support Engineer – Level 2
Location: Peabody, MA (Onsite with Some Client Travel)
Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire
The Alexander Technology Group is looking for a hands-on IT professional who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys solving complex technical problems for a variety of clients. Our client, A fast-growing technology company based in Peabody, MA, is looking to add a talented Level 2 IT Support Engineer to their team.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative group of tech-minded professionals supporting a wide range of industries through infrastructure implementation, network configuration, and strategic troubleshooting. 🔧 What You’ll Be Doing:
Serve as a Tier 2 escalation point for client IT issues, working across hardware, software, network, and systems
Implement and maintain local and wide area networks, including switches, routers, and firewalls
Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity, infrastructure, and system issues
Assist with client migrations, upgrades, and rollouts—on-site and remotely
Collaborate with third-party vendors to resolve technical issues and support client systems
Work with project teams to support planning and execution while staying on schedule and within scope
Perform diagnostics, system evaluations, and documentation to recommend improvements and solutions
Provide end-user support, workstation maintenance, and software installations
Travel to client sites as needed for troubleshooting, implementation, and scheduled visits
🧠What We’re Looking For:
3+ years of experience in IT customer support, ideally in a consulting or MSP environment
Strong foundation in network infrastructure, Windows Server (2012–2019), Active Directory, Office 365/Exchange, and virtualization tools
Hands-on experience with firewall, router, and switch configuration
Familiarity with remote support tools, helpdesk systems, and network monitoring
Ability to work independently or as part of a team with excellent communication skills
Comfortable translating technical language for non-technical users
Associate degree in IT or equivalent certifications (CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft, etc.)
💡 Bonus Points For:
Experience with wireless technologies, cloud migrations, or infrastructure design
Certifications like Network+, MCSA, or CCNA
Prior experience with project-based work or consulting environments
